Hope: How are we saved by hope?

Romans 8:24 says “For we are saved by hope”.  Notice the scriptures also say we are saved by grace in Ephesians 2:8, 9;  saved by mercy, in Titus 3:4, 5;  saved by Christ’s blood, in Ephesians 1:7; saved by faith in Acts 15:9;  and saved by baptism in I Peter 3:21. There are more examples that could be given. The point is:  they all have a part in our salvation.

The writer of Hebrews says in chapter 6:19 “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast”. Our hope is like an anchor, keeping us from drifting off the straight and narrow way that leads to eternal life.  Our “hope of eternal life”  (Titus 1:2), motivates us and sustains us to “fight the good fight of faith” I Timothy 6:12

When there is no hope, people usually give up. We as Christians have hope. Christ is our hope, I Timothy 1:1.  Our hope endures because Christ endures. Even during the darkest hours here on earth, the shining beacon of hope of eternal life with our Savior and all the redeemed, sustains us.  In this manner, we are saved by hope.
