Temptation is a fact of life. The Bible tells us we need to pray so that we may avoid temptation; the Bible also reassures us when we are tempted. 1 Cor. 10:13 says "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." This verse gives us comfort in knowing that we are not alone and that God has measured the temptation that we can withstand and will not allow us to be tempted beyond our level of endurance. In our battle with temptation we can have the certainty that we are not the first person to have faced it and that God will provide us with a way to deal with it.

When tempted we can be assured we are in pretty good company. All we have to do is look around and know that every Christian we see has battled some type of temptation. We all know the story of Jesus being tempted in the desert and how he won. Hebrews 3:6 tells us, "Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted" With these two verses as a foundation, we should have confidence to face temptation.
